AGESA 1.0.7.0 Fixes Temperature Control Issues Causing Ryzen 7000 Burns

Igor’s Lab reports AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 burnout firmware repair, AGESA ComboAM5 patch 1.0.7.0, addresses different bugs associated to the Ryzen 7000’s temperature management system. The brand new combo patch now units a compulsory SoC voltage restrict of 1.3v and contains new SMU bug fixes to make sure processors do not transcend the temperature specs.

AMD does not give us particulars on the matter, however apparently there have been optimization points (in earlier AGESA microcode updates) surrounding the temperature management system contained in the Ryzen 7000’s SMU, inflicting the chip to misbehave when it hits TJmax (i.e. its temperature). ceiling). We do not know the extent of potential injury this causes, but it surely’s extremely probably that this SMU bug will trigger Ryzen 7000 burnout along with unsafe SoC voltages.
